In the movie Stealing Harvard, the is a scene about 1/2 way through where Tom Green and Jason Lee's characters are trying to rob a quickie mart. Behind the counter there are 2 spots in camera that you see a bunch of discs for sale. Anyone else know of spottings like this where you see disc golf or it is mentioned post em. I have more but blanking them out rite now

Tao of Steve.

He's got an object course in his backyard, but plays with lids.

in the recently-released movie "Solitary Man" starring Michael Douglas and Danny Devito, Michael Douglas and the main female character are walking across the quad of a college campus (it was actually filmed at Fordham in The Bronx) when a "Frolfer's" disc almost hits her in the head. Michael Douglas and the Frolfer get into a knock-down drag-out fight over it.

i actually had a discussion with the Assistant Director and attempted to get the director to change the terminologyfrom "Frolfing" (Frisbee golfing) to Disc Golf but they wouldn't budge. maybe it was a "period piece" prior to the term Disc Golf being used, i'm not sure. But it pained me to be a technical advisor for that scene and hear the hippie-like Disc Golfer say "Hey dude, we were Frolfing".

Yea the PDGA was hyping the show, I guess they were contacted by Paramount Studios about it. Not sure what the expectations were but they just called it frolf the whole time, showed a guy chucking a disc into a girls face who was standing next to him, called it nerdy, and then said its not a real sport. There was also some serious Vibram Five-Finger product placement even though they called them "running socks". Wonder if Vibram was pushing the Five-fingers / "frolf". The show sucks too FYI I don't suggest watching it.

Yeah, well I made big time fun of my friend when he introduced me to the 'sport' of disc golf, then once that disc crashed the chains and fell in the basket I said, 'OK, I can see how this can be fun'. Fast forward---100 tournaments later and I'm still whooped after a 2 dayer! It's great excersize and definitely a mental and physically demanding sport! I think the whole Frisbee association = hippie therefore joke sport happens in most peoples minds. We know better!

Happy Endings issued an apology to disc golfers for that episode. It is actually pretty funny, they played this one like a champ.
