Skylands 2012 Ice Bowls generated great results for charities this year. Over $3000 in donations along with many cans of food and children’s toys were donated to the Warwick Ecumenical Council Food Pantry and Strengthen Our Sisters http://www.sosdv.org/ in West Milford NJ. Ice Bowls are always charity events and this year our disc golfers were very generous.
Skylands Flying Disc Club would like to thank Noah Blanchard for running this year’s event at Buzzys/Browns Point Creek Park in West Milford, N.J. and Steve & Leslie Brinster for running the Ice Bowl at the Warwick Town Park in Warwick N.Y. A big Thank You also goes out to all the people that contributed and donated to this great cause. I think this was the most we have every generated for our local charities. Well Done!

In an interview with 12x PDGA World Champion Ken Climo at the 2011 USDGC, The Champ was asked what his favorite disc golf course is in the entire United States. His answer? Warwick, NY!!! Thanks for the props Champ! Way to go Skylands for building and maintaining one of the best disc golf courses in the country!!
First of all, I'm sorry for giving zero notice about messing with the forums! Our forums were very outdated and it's been on my list for a while now to upgrade them. I finally got to work tonight testing the upgrade on my local server and realized it may just be easier to go for it and update the live forums. As I progressed everything went very smooth and I decided to keep the changes instead of rolling everything back to give proper notice and then re-do everything again. Long story short, the forums are upgraded to the latest version of phpbb3 and there are a few minor changes listed below.
1. Your saved bookmarks for the forum will no longer work! The new URL for our forum is http://www.nynjdiscgolf.com/forums Please update your bookmarks, this will not change again.
2. When you try to login for the first time you may or may not get an error and it won't let you login. Please supply your username and email and reset your password. You will get an email with your new password to log in to the forums. At this point please change your password to something you will remember and you're done. This happened to my account and took like 30 seconds to straighten out.
I will be tweaking things over the next few days so you may notice some small changes. The main website at www.nynjdiscgolf.com will always be up, please look for updates there should the forums be down for any reason. Thanks!
